And I thought that maybe their invite system is just simple… how about the welcome mail? That HAS to be fancy right?
Ok, ok… but once I start getting notifications. THOSE will be fancy right?
Exhibit B: Dying dead tree publication trying to become popular…
They are lucky I turned on the images for the mail. Or else it was blank.
One email was incredibly simple and personal. The other probably cost a few hundred dollars in design time to create and send. It’s not personal at all. It also smells of desperation. “FOLLOW ME!” is the whole message.
One service is growing by leaps and bounds. The other will be out of business in the next few years.
So lets add fancy-pants email templates to the list of things customers don’t care about and STOP WASTING YOUR MONEY.
